Beschreibung: Silberweißes, glänzendes, relativ weiches Metall. Man erhält es z. B. durch Elektrolyse von geschmolzenem BeCl2. Wird von Luft und Wasser auch bei Rotglut nicht angegriffen. Wird für Legierungen mit Kupfer und Nickel verwendet, die ausgezeichnete elektrische und thermische Leitfähigkeiten besitzen.
